DOT Urges Motorists to Slow Down During Winter Events
Special to Huntingtonnews.net
Charleston, WV (HNN) — The West Virginia Department of Transportation strongly advises motorists to reduce their speed during extreme winter events on all West Virginia roadways.
“During significant snow events every year, West Virginia interstates, the West Virginia Turnpike and our corridor routes are full of accidents due to excessive speed,” stated Secretary Paul Mattox. “While road crews across the state are out in force plowing and treating, we cannot stress how important it is to prepare your vehicle for winter, check road conditions ahead of time and, if travel is a must, make extra time, slow down and arrive safely.”
