Fishing and Recreation Areas open at Marmet

Huntington, WV (HNN) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers opened the fishing access pier and outdoor recreation areas at the Marmet Locks and Dam at noon today.
The fishing access pier and outdoor recreation areas are located on the bank of the Kanawha River near the mouth of Burning Springs adjacent to the new picnic area that opened last April. In addition to fishing access, the outdoor recreation area provides opportunities for walking, hiking, biking and open field activities.
The picnic and recreation areas are open during daylight hours, but fishing is permitted around the clock.
