Charleston, WV (HNN) -- US Airways Magazine is featuring West Virginia in an 11-page section in the May 2010 issue of its in-flight magazine. The issue will reach about 3.1 million affluent business and leisure travelers who fly the airline to more than 230 destinations in 32 countries.

“West Virginia has a great story to tell. And each day in the month of May, we’ll have our beautiful state in front of thousands of potential visitors on more than 3,000 flights. It is an excellent way to welcome the start of the summer travel season,” said Gov. Joe Manchin.

The feature spotlights West Virginia’s sights, heritage, festivals, attractions and upcoming events -- such as the Greenbrier Classic, the newest stop for the 2010 PGA TOUR. Additionally, it profiles the state’s advantages for quality of life and relocation.

“West Virginia is a real hidden gem,” explained Carsten Morgan, director of special projects for Pace Airline Media. “Located in the heart of the airline’s dominant market share in the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region, the state is something our readers will enjoy discovering – or re-discovering — with this travel outlook section.”
