Charleston, WV (HNN) -- Here is a listing of WV film events and entry dates for upcoming festivals compiled by the WV Film Office.
 
On January 31, the Travel Channel at 10 p.m. will feature Huntington/Lesage based Hillbilly Hotdogs on "101 Tastiest Places to Chow Down."
 
 
Steve Harvey to Host Family FEUD
 
The TV game show "Family Feud" is getting a new referee. Series producer FremantleMedia North America said comedian Steve Harvey will take over as host from John O'Hurley when the syndicated show begins its new season next fall. The company said Harvey was chosen for his ability to connect with viewers and his "one-of-a-kind" personality. Harvey is a native of Welch, McDowell County, West Virginia. JAN. 31 — TRAVEL CHANNEL TO FEATURE HILLBILLY HOTDOGS
 
The Travel Channel will air the finale episode of "101 Tastiest Places to Chow Down" on January 31 @ 10:00 pm, which will feature Lesage- and Huntington-based "Hillbilly Hotdogs". The series began airing the tastiest places on January 3. The January 31 episode unveils the Top 20, which includes Hillbilly Hotdogs. FEB. 6 — TLC to air "the ultimate chili challenge
 
The Learning Channel will air the "Ultimate Chili Challenge" on Saturday, February 6 @ 10:00 pm. The production company Pilgrim TV of Los Angeles filmed the episode during the World Chili Cook-off in Charleston in October 2009.
 
 
FEB. 12 - SHEPHERDSTOWN FILM SOCIETY – SHEPHERDSTOWN
 
The Shepherdstown Film Society will screen Julie Dash’s "Daughters of the Dust" on February 12 @ 7:00pm at Reynolds Hall, Shepherd University. Admission is free and each showing will be followed by a discussion. For more info, visit http://www.shepherdstownfilmsociety.org.
 
 
FEB. 12 DEADLINE - Independent Filmmaker Documentary Lab fellowship
 
Drawing from a national first-time director candidate pool, 20 projects (10 documentaries and 10 narratives) are selected for this year-long Independent Filmmaker Documentary Lab Fellowship. The fellowship includes the five-day Lab in New York City on April 12-16, one-on-one mentorship with industry innovators and icons, and during IFP’s Independent Film Week in September - pre-scheduled meetings with potential buyers, sales agents and festival programmers and inclusion in a Lab “Sneak Preview” Showcase presentation. FEB. 13 DEADLINE - CALL FOR ENTRIES - INTERNATIONAL SURREALIST FILM FESTIVAL
 
The 2010 International Surrealist Film Festival will take place on March 21 at the Mark Goodson Theatre at The American Film Institute. The ISFF is searching for Surreality in all genres of film. Don’t know if your film is Surreal? Not to worry – a panel will decide. First prize is a BOLEX 16mm movie camera. Entries must be postmarked by February 13. FEB. 15 DEADLINE - CALL FOR ENTRIES - THE Banff World Television Awards
 
The Banff World Television Awards call for entries is open and is accepting submissions into each of its 28 prestigious awards categories. Programs for the 2010 season of the competition can now be sent using an online video link, powered by Calamares. Please note that this is the preferred method to submit your program into the competition. The system accepts video files up to 1.5 GB in size. Deadline for entries is February 15. MAR. 14 — WV FILM SERIES — SOUTH CHARLESTON
 
The South Charleston Museum continues its West Virginia Film Series with screenings of three documentaries, produced by the WV Department of Transportation, on March 14 @ 7:00 pm at the La Belle Theater, 311 'D' Street, South Charleston. Filmmaker David Marcum of the DOT will introduce the films, "Bridging History at Blennerhassett Island" (30 min), "The Road to Opportunity – 50th Anniversary of the WV Turnpike" (45 min), and "A Golden Era Dream Rides Into the 21st Century" (10 min), and will be available afterward for questions. MAR. 26 DEADLINE - Independent Filmmaker Narrative Lab fellowship
