Twisted Gun Golf Club Hosts First Ever Spring Coal Shootout

Wharncliffe, WV (HNN) - Twisted Gun Golf Club hosted the first-ever Spring Coal Shootout on May 22-23 at the mountaintop course, where Brian Sangid of Jonesborough, Tenn. became its first Champion. Sangid held on to his lead, after posting an impressive 4-under-par 68 during the first round of play on Saturday. Players in the Coal Shootout had began with tee times the first round and a shotgun start for the final round of play on Sunday.
Three-time West Virginia Amateur Champion Tim Fisher, of Statts Mills, finished second, with consecutive 1-under-par 71s each round, totaling 142 for the tournament.
"For the Coal Shootout being a new event, I think it was run very well. The staff at Twisted Gun was very professional and we had great weather," said Fisher. "I look forward to it coming back next year, everyone had a great time."
