Marshall Men’s Basketball Signs Aundra Williams To National Letter of Intent
The 6’10” Williams Is Tom Herrion’s Second Recruit

Huntington, WV (HNN) — Marshall University head men’s basketball coach Tom Herrion has announced that 6’10” center Aundra Williams of Indian River State (Junior) College in Ft. Pierce, Fla. has signed a National Letter of Intent and will continue his collegiate playing career with the Thundering Herd for the upcoming season.
 
Williams averaged 8.8 points and 5.8 rebounds in 23 appearances for Indian River as a sophomore. Indian River (19-6) won the Florida Community College Activities Association’s (FCCGA) Southern Conference and advanced to the FCCGA Tournament. Williams scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the first round of the FCCGA Tournament as Indian River lost 77-75 to Tallahassee Community College. Williams was named first team All-Conference and was selected to the FCCGA All-Tournament team.
 
Williams began his collegiate career at Mississippi Delta Community College where he averaged 7.7 points and 1.3 rebounds per game during his freshman campaign. A native of Clewiston, Fla., Williams played his prep basketball at Orlando’s Boone High School. Williams was rated as a top 50 prospect by both Hoopscoop Online and the ABA team Miami Tropics' recruiting services at Boone. Williams has grown two inches during his junior college career.
 
“Aundra is a great addition to our program,” Herrion said. “He brings a physical presence and adds depth to our frontcourt. He is a talented young man who will continue to get better and better. He had a very good year at Indian River and helped their program win a conference championship.”
 
Williams joins Dante Holmes of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md. in the 2010-11 Marshall men’s basketball recruiting class.
