Marshall Excels in Field Events on Final Day of C-USA Championships
Three top five finishes for the Herd on day four

Orlando, FL (HNN) – The Marshall University women’s track & field team had strong field performance on the final day of the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as Andrea Jackson, Vanessa Jules and Amanda Kennedy all placed in the top five in their events.
The Herd finished the championship in 10th place.
Jackson led the way for the Thundering Herd as she took second place in the triple jump with a leap of 12.78m. The Sumter, S.C. native also finished second in the triple jump at the C-USA Indoor Championships back in February.
Jules placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.69m (5-feet, 6-inches). Tynita Butts of East Carolina was first with a height of 1.74m.
Kennedy reset her own school record for a third time this season in the javelin with a toss of 43.24m, which was good for fifth place overall.
Senior LaTricia Jones ended her career with a sixth place finish in the shot put with a distance of 13.44m, and Rolanda Bruce took sixth in the finals of the women’s 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.42.
