Two Qualify for 2010 U.S. Open at Local Qualifying at Edgewood Country Club

Sissionville, WV (HNN) — After two days of suspended play due to heavy downpours and thunderstorms on Wednesday, and resulting flooding of the course on Thursday, local qualifying for the 2010 U.S. Open resumed this afternoon at Edgewood Country Club, where two players will be heading to sectional qualifying.
Sissonville’s Matthew Hicks shot the low round of the day with a 32-35—67 on the par 70 course. Aaron Summers of Willis, Va. also shot a 3-under-par 67, securing his place in the sectionals. Matt Stauch, of Dublin, Ohio, and Huntington’s Pat Carter will serve as the two alternates.
