Huntington, WV (HNN) — Marshall University head men’s basketball coach Tom Herrion has announced that Dante Holmes of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md. has signed a National Letter of Intent and will advance his playing career to the collegiate level with the Thundering Herd.

A two-time second-team All-Metro selection, Holmes guided the Panthers to the MIAA A Conference championship this past winter. Holmes finished his St. Frances career with two MIAA A Conference and two Baltimore Catholic League titles. He scored more than 1,200 points over his final two seasons in a St. Frances uniform. Holmes also considered Loyola (Md.), St. John’s and UAB before selecting Marshall.

“We are excited to have Dante join our basketball program,” Herrion said. “He is a terrific addition and will add great depth to our perimeter. He has played in one of the best high school conferences in the country and for an outstanding coach in Mark Karicher at St. Frances Academy. Dante’s versatility and toughness will be a great asset.”
