Marshall Women’s Golf Sits in the Middle of the Pack Following Day One
The Thundering Herd completes two rounds at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic

Richmond, KY (HNN) - The Marshall University women’s golf team is tied for ninth with Ohio University following two rounds of action at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic at the Arlington Golf Club on Saturday afternoon, April 10.
 
Memphis, Arkansas State and Morehead State lead the 17 team field, each shooting a 605 on Saturday.
 
Andrea Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) leads the Thundering Herd through 36 holes of play. Grier shot a team-low 76 in second round action, improving three strokes from her first round’s 79 (79-76=155).
 
Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.) sits one stroke behind Grier, shooting a 77 in the opening round, followed by a 79 on the second 18 holes (77-79=156).
 
Rachel Halloran (Leawood, Kan.) shot a 79 in first round action, one below her season average. She finished the day with a 161 (79-82=161).
 
Maria Battaglia (Uniontown, Pa.) and Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio) each shot an 83 in final 18 holes to complete the first day with a 166 and 170, respectively.
 
Austin Peay’s Chelsea Harris and Arkansas State’s Anna Carling each shot a 146 to stand atop of the leader through two rounds.
 
The tournament will conclude on Sunday, April 11 with the final round of play beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
