Herd Defeats Kent State 8-5 in MAC Baseball Play

Huntington (HNN) — Marshall had to come back twice to finally beat Kent State 8-5 in a Mid-American Conference baseball game played Friday afternoon, April 8, 2005 at University Heights.
Kent State took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second
inning . Marshall gradually kept coming back scoring two runs in the
bottom of the third and one run in the bottom of the fourth and fifth
innings giving the Herd a 4-3 lead.
Kent came back in the top of the seventh with two runs to
take the lead back making the score 5-4. Marshall countered that
with an explosion of scoring in the eighth inning scoring four runs
to win the game 8-5.
The exciting game had Marshall fans cheering and clapping. Both teams will play again on Saturday (April 9) and on Sunday (April 10) starting at 1 p.m.
