Maynard Attacks Unemployment Figures

From a Spike Maynard Release

Williamson, WV (HNN) – Elliott "Spike" Maynard, Republican candidate for Congress, responded to this morning's new employment numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate was 9.6% last month, and has stayed over 9% for more than 12 consecutive months. In all, more than fourteen million Americans (14,000,000) are looking for work as of this morning.

"The Obama, Pelosi, and Rahall team has spent trillions of dollars of our money, yet millions of Americans are still looking for work. Pelosi and Rahall tax too much, spend too much, and they just don't listen," said Maynard.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, West Virginia suffers from around 9% unemployment, with more than 68,000 West Virginians looking for work, up more than 2,000 since the summer. In the Huntington area alone, which takes in parts of the 3rd Congressional District, more than 11,000 people are unemployed.

"Rahall votes with Nancy Pelosi 98.6% of the time in Congress. That includes billions of dollars in spending, and West Virginians have nothing to show for it. I'll go to Congress to fight for a budget-cutting, job-creating agenda. I'll vote to fire Nancy Pelosi," said Maynard.

Spike Maynard is the Republican running in the 3rd Congressional District of West Virginia.
