Hinton, WV (HNN) – Today 77 delegates gathered for the 10th Senatorial District Convention at Bluestone Lake State Park and nominated Mark Wills to run for the remainder of the unexpired term of the late Senator Don Caruth. The five counties of the 10th Senate District elected delegates in July to represent their counties at the convention held today to choose the Democratic Party’s nominee for the seat.

“We are excited about Mark Wills as our candidate,” West Virginia Democratic Party Executive Director Derek Scarbro said. “Mark knows the district well and will make a great Senator.”

Wills, of Princeton, previously served two terms in the House of Delegates from 1999-2003 representing Mercer County. He is an attorney with his own practice which includes offices in Princeton and Lewisburg.

The 10th Senate District will have both seats on the ballot this year - the unexpired term and a full, four year term. Ron Miller, of Greenbrier County, is the Democratic nominee for the other seat.

“Mark Wills and Ron Miller will make a great ticket this November and a great team in the Senate,” Scarbro added. “The people of Greenbrier, Fayette, Mercer, Monroe, and Summers counties will be well represented.”
