Oliverio Defeats Molohan in WV 1st District Democratic Congressional Primary
Oliverio will face David McKinley in November; Rahall to Face Spike Maynard in 3rd District; Shelley Moore Capito wil face Virginia Lynch Graf in Second District

State Sen. Mike Oliverio defeated incumbent First District congressman Alan Molohan in Tuesday's Democratic primary, with 56 percent of the votes cast to Molohan's 44 percent (37,504 votes to 29,716).
Oliverio will face Republican David McKinley in the November general election. McKinley received 35 percent of the votes in a six-way contest, beating Mac Warner, who garnered 27 percent and four other candidates.
Third District Congressman Nick Joe Rahall easily defeated Bruce Barilla of Bluefield to seek an 18th term. He was first elected in 1976 and will face Republican former state Supreme Court Justice Elliott "Spike" Maynard in November. Maynard is a former Democrat who switched parties in 2008.
In the Second District, incumbent Shelley Moore Capito, R-WV, was unopposed and will face Virginia Lynch Graf of Charles Town, also unopposed, in the Democratic primary, in November.
