Huntington, WV (HNN) - Turn off the X-BOX, shut down the Wii, and walk away from the PS3; it’s time for everything you ever knew, heard, saw, and remember about video games - to come to life right before your eyes! Video Games Live arrives at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center Thursday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Sure Microsoft’s new KINECT system sees you and listens to you in your living room, but what if the electronic worlds that we all know and love didn’t stop at your television? What if they were real? They are. Video Games Live is that experience.
Video Games Live is an amazing concert experience packed with all of the greatest video game music of all time performed by a 28-piece symphony orchestra combined with lasers lights, an electrifying stage production and an interactive video game all going on at once.
But this experience isn’t just cool and interactive, it’s educational as well. This is the classical music of a new generation, complete with educational characters as well as a historical walk through the things that have defined us as a culture over the past three decades.
Video games have evolved in the 21st century as the number one source of entertainment among Americans. We use them for play, relaxation, education, as well as exercise. Long gone are the days when sitting down a playing with a joy-stick for a few hours would rot your brain. Today’s video games combine exercise and fun with healthy options and alternatives to every day life. Who knows, maybe a game a day just might keep the doctor away?
Whether you’re a twenty-year gaming veteran, or you’re looking for a modern Mozart experience, Video Games Live is a spectacular event for the whole family.
Join us at Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Healthy Kids Playground at the Huntington Mall on Sunday, December 12, from 2:00PM – 4:00 PM. WKEE will broadcast live, offering the chance to win family 4-packs of tickets to the show. Additionally, you may purchase $1 raffle tickets for the Grand Prize package containing a red anniversary Wii, Guitar Hero, a family four pack of tickets to the show and other prizes valued over $500. Proceeds from the raffle benefit the Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Tickets for Video Games Live are also on sale now and range from $25 - $47 but for a limited time you may purchase a holiday pack of 5 tickets to the show for only $125. Offer ends December 22.
Tickets may be purchased at the Marshall Artists Series Box Office, located on the East side of the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center, or by calling (304) 696.3326. Patrons can also visit www.marshallartistsseries.org for ticket information. The box office is open Monday through Friday from noon – 5:00PM. Tickets can also be purchased at any Ticketmaster location, including online at www.ticketmaster.com.
