Marshall Athletics Announces Addition To Nike Retail Line
Nike Will Begin Offering Kelly Green & White Marshall Sideline Apparel Next Year

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Marshall University’s Athletic Department is proud to announce that Nike will add the color Kelly Green to the retail sales line of Marshall University and Marshall’s athletics teams will be transitioning over to Kelly Green & White uniforms in the coming years.
“Nike has been a great partner in working with us and we appreciate their willingness to provide this option for our fans,” Marshall Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick said. “I also want to thank the University for allowing us to transition over to the traditional Kelly Green color that so many of our fans associate with our athletics program. This has been a top priority for me since my arrival here last summer, because our fans have made it known that it was a major issue for them. It will be great to see our fans and our teams wearing the same color green.”
Starting in mid-Summer 2011, Marshall Fans should be able to purchase new Kelly Green Marshall Apparel such as coaches polo shirts, jackets and warm-up suits and other items at retail stores.
Nike is adding its Kelly Green offerings in several sports. The color is currently used in the Thundering Herd’s football and basketball uniforms. The majority of Marshall Sports programs, however will begin slowly transitioning over to the lighter shade which was Marshall’s primary color prior to the introduction of the darker green (Pantone 357) that is now the school’s official color.
