Cross Country Season Comes to a Close at Penn State

College Park, PA (HNN) – David Caldwell of the Marshall University men’s cross country team finished 51st overall to lead the men to an 18th place team finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday afternoon at Penn State.
Caldwell finished the 10K course with a time of 31:44, while Chris Cole was MU’s second finisher with a time of 32:05 and a 70th place finish.
Standout Matt Schiffbauer suffered a calf injury mid-way through the course and was unable to finish the race.
The Princeton Tigers won the men’s race and punched a ticket to the NCAA Championships.
Heather Saffel once again led the women’s team with a 131st place finish in the 6K course and a time of 23:39. Villanova took the women’s title.
The Thundering Herd now turns its attention to indoor track as MU first’s competition is December 4th at the Oiler Open.
