Schiffbauer and Caldwell Finish 1-2 at Evansville Invitational

Evansville, IN (HNN) – Matt Schiffbauer and David Caldwell finished first and second respectively at the ninth-annual Evansville Invitational to help the Marshall University men’s cross country take first place Saturday afternoon.
The Thundering Herd’s Schiffbauer finished the 8K course in dominant fashion with a season-best time of 24:12.99. Caldwell then crossed the line 15 second later in a time of 24:12.99 in second place.
Also finishing in the top 10 was Chris Cole. His time of 25:07.69 was good for sixth place overall.
On the women’s side, Heather Saffel paced the Herd as she finished third overall with a time of 18:30.80 in the 5K course. The women finished in fifth place.
It is on to the Conference USA Tournament hosted by Tulsa. The date is set for November 1st.
