Schiffbauer and Saffel Lead Marshall at Old Timers Classic
Men finish 2nd, women finish 3rd

Bowling Green, KY (HNN) – Matt Schiffbauer of the Marshall men’s cross country team and Heather Saffel of the women’s team led the Herd at the Old Timers Classic Saturday morning hosted by Western Kentucky.
Schiffbauer helped the Thundering Herd men’s team finish second as he placed 7th overall in the 8,000 kilometer course with a time of 25:48.56. David Caldwell was second for the Herd and 11th overall as he crossed the line in 26:15.58.
The women’s team was third overall and paced by freshman Heather Saffel. Saffel completed the 5,000 kilometer course in a time of 19:35.99 and placed 13th. Leslie Thomas was 20th overall and finished in 20:03.89.
The Herd is off next weekend and then participates in the Greater Louisville Classic on October 2.
