Cabell School Board to Consider August 2011 School Year Start
By Tony Rutherford

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Schools in Cabell County would open on or about Aug. 15, 2011, according to a proposal by Superintendent William Smith. The legislature last year gave counties authority for beginning the instructional year in August to ensure that the required number of instructional days are fulfilled.
One of the reasons for the scheduling flexibility came as a result of inclement weather impacting longer periods during the school year.
The full agenda for the 5:30 p.m. Tuesday meeting is available at: http://boe.cabe.k12.wv.us/boardagendas/12.21.10%20Regular.pdf
