Special to Huntingtonnews.net
In this bone-chilling cold, there is no warmer place to enjoy the holiday season than TAMARACK: The Best of West Virginia.
Whether you’re seeking perfect hors d’oeuvres for your family gathering, the ideal gift for a faraway friend or sharing lunch with colleagues, Tamarack is a shopping and dining haven.
Gift shopping at Tamarack is a welcome respite from the noise and traffic hassles, and offers live holiday entertainment including St. Nick checking his list for your wishes.
Speaking of lists, Tamarack’s list of activities for the upcoming pre-Christmas weekend is nearly as long as Santa’s. Polymer clay jeweler Judy Belcher demonstrates her talents this weekend along with potter Lambros Tshuhlares and a toymaker straight from the North Pole, Andy Sheetz.
If you’re still at a loss for great gift ideas, Tamarack’s retail staff can help with shopping in store or online, and ship gifts to out of town friends. Gift certificates are available for retail items and winter dinner theater.
Beckley Elementary School performs Christmas music on Friday during lunch, and Park Middle School brings the Chronicles of Narnia to the Tamarack stage on Saturday at 4 p.m. On Sunday Dec. 19 Tamarack hosts a Psaltrio Christmas featuring resident artisans Tish and Greg Westman with Jackie Williams and friends performing holiday classics on traditional stringed instruments.
If you’re traveling to Orlando for the Champs Sports Bowl on Dec. 28, Tamarack will be the official WVU fan stop on your route. For the WVU fan Tamarack offers a free small fountain drink or coffee, giveaways from WVU*, a special Sunday edition Beckley newspaper and a special $5 off a $25 purchase** or more on Dec. 26-27. Open daily from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Tamarack is easily accessible to fans traveling south.
As the year winds down, Tamarack adjusts its hours accordingly. Tamarack closes at 5 p.m. on both Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and is closed Christmas. Winter hours, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., begin Jan. 4 through the winter months.
Located off I-77/64 at Exit 45, Tamarack specializes in handcrafted products made in West Virginia, and in food court dining, catering and conference center services. Call 1 88 TAMARACK or visit tamarackwv.com for details. Join us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
