Huntington, WV (HNN) – Starting as a small Christmas party among friends, the “Toy Train” grew into a Christmas charity. The 12th annual party brought a couple of hundred partygoers Saturday, Dec. 11 from 7-11 p.m. on the second floor of the MCA Building, 836 Fourth Avenue (next to Gallery 842).

A photo gallery shows both the festivities and donations brought to the annual event which grew from those few friends helping others to a private, home grown charity.

Although social service workers provide some of the names for needy families, neighbors, teachers, and friends inform the committee of young professionals about families with needs at Christmas.

Last year the little charity that could received generous donations providing assistance for about 400 families.

Admission to the party was $20 or a toy and the food , beverages, and entertainment were donated, including food from Roccos, Max & Ermas, Mac-Reedo’s, Chili Willis and Huntington Prime.

Thought the party is history for another year, you can still donate by contacting Dan Yon at dty@bcyon.com.
