Huntington, WV (HNN) – The West Virginia State Police continue searching for missing MU student Ruth “Tuesday” Hovemeyer. However, HNN has new and corrected data about the missing 22-year-old.

Hovemeyer was reported missing by family members on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Described as 5”8”, 149 lbs., with blue eyes, she is a member of the 130th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air National Guard. A picture taken by the unit on the 130th Airlift Wing website shows her performing maintenance on the ladder of a C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft, Feb. 8, 2009. But she had not previously been dispatched overseas.

“Tuesday is her nickname from when she hiked the Appalachian Trail,” stated her siister-in-law, Paula Pudewell.

She was last seen at her college apartment in the 200 block of W. Eighth Avenue in Huntington.

Prudewell also stated that HNN’s earlier internet research on the missing young woman had a flaw --- the “shalar.net” site belongs to her sister in law and her brother, not the missing woman and her husband. The “missing sister” statement on Shalar.net is accurate.

Thus, the quotes and travels, related to her brother and sister in law, not Ruth Hovemeyer. Still, Paula Pudewell told HNN that Ruth has “gone letterboxing with us a few times, but did not write those posts. My husband [her brother] did.”

Internet “names” can be tricky, especially when attempting to unravel a trail with few spokespersons stepping forward. We thank Paula for stepping forward to correct the research.

“Thank you so much for getting the word out,” Pudewell wrote.

(Editor’s Note: Since Ruth is not “Falar,” the missing women did NOT write: “I’ve been writing semi-deep things that confuse me. Confusion is wonderful. So raise your glass and let’s toast being muddled and unsure. It is our generation, after all.” However, Jesse Pudewell did write on Twitter, “My sister Ruth Hovemeyer, a.k.a. “Tuesday” is missing. Please help get the word out.”)

The website now states: “Hey, everyone who’s reading this through searches for Ruth! There’s important info you need to know. First of all, I’m Ruth’s sister-in-law, and I’m “Sha.” My husband is her brother, and he goes by the nickname “Falar.” This blog is about our life… so any of the content here isn’t really related to Ruth. You’re still free to look around, but anything here isn’t written by her, except a comment or two on some of the posts. Thanks for helping us with the search!”

According to Angelo Fioavante, a senior political science major and a friend of the missing woman, “I’ve not seen her since November 9th.” He tells of each of them loaning books to each other, but, “I heard she fell off the radar and I was hoping to see her on the 16th for Poetry Club but she did not show.”

The need for prayers and searching cannot be more succinctly stated than a post on another news website: “Ruth is a very nice girl , working hard to go through college. She’s extremely intelligent and bright. Please do all you are able to do to help find her, whether it is by physically searching or praying constantly for her and her family. This is a horrid time for them. Their young daughter is missing and her welfare is of the utmost importance.”
