Special to Huntingtonnews.net
Huntington, WV (HNN) - As part of the ongoing revitalization of the Heritage Station in Huntington, WV, on November 20, 2010, the Cabell Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau along with The Red Caboose will be hosting a group of Appalachian artisans from 10am until 2pm.
A variety of artisans, with mixed media to egg shell etchings, will be on hand displaying and providing the public an opportunity to adopt one of their creations. “We provide a support system for artisans, helping them develop goals to achieve success, and in-turn minimizes their reliance on others for a livelihood and future.” said Duane Thomas, Director of MiAppa. “This event at The Red Caboose provides not only the artisans an opportunity for greater market exposure, but it also provides the public an opportunity to learn about Appalachian art work.”
