Marshall Basketball Team Sets New Field Goal Shooting Record Against Glenville State of 69%

Huntington, WV (HNN) The Marshall University men's basketball team set a new field goal shooting record of 69% playing against Glenville State College on Monday night at Cam Henderson Center. Marshall won the game 93-48 playing before 4,638 fans.

The record breaks a 13 year old mark of 66.7% set on January 8, 1997 playing Davidson College.
 
Marshall playing a full roster of players many of them seeing about 20 minutes of playing time each used team work to accomplish the record. There were 23 assists.
 
Certainly an impressive start for new Marshall coach Tom Herrion that won over WVU Tech 92-69 on Friday (Nov. 12) and is now 2-0.
 
Coach Herrion said, "We are still not where we want to be. This team is still inexperienced."
 
This Saturday (November 20) will be more of challenge for the Herd when they meet rival UT-Chattanooga at 7:30 PM at Cam Henderson Center. The later time change was made to allow Marshall fans watch the Marshall and SMU football game on Saturday afternoon.
 
Some of the past basketball games between Marshall and UT-Chattanooga have become legendary. Both used to be competitors in the Southern Conference.
