Piketon Honoring Cold War Vets on October 29

Piketon, OH (HNN) - The Second annual National Day of Remembrance which honors former uranium and nuclear workers will be October 30, 2010. Since the day of recognition falls on Saturday, some communities are holding events on Friday, Oct. 29.
 
The Professional Case Management Office of the OSU Endeavor Center hosts the Piketon, Ohio remembrance from 1-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29.
 
Former workers at the Huntington Pilot Plant (Reduction Pilot Plant) and other former atomic workers and /or their survivors are welcome to attend.
 
The Endeavor Center is located just off U.S. 23 North at 1862 Shyville Road. Cake and refreshments will be served.
 
“At Cold War Patriots we are so pleased the 600,000 workers who toiled in secrecy are receiving their recognition . A thank you goes out to all the workers, their family members, and all the folks who worked to get the NDR passed.”
