Huntington, WV (HNN) - The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) is joining with Mastercam and SolidWorks on Tuesday, October 26, to present seminars on the latest CNC programming and 3-D Modeling software at the RCBI Charleston Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center.

Seminars and demonstrations will be presented during the daylong event at RCBI, located on the Marshall University Graduate College campus at 100 Angus E. Peyton Drive in South Charleston.

Representatives from Mastercam and SolidWorks will join RCBI’s experienced staff to offer demonstrations and guidance, according to RCBI Director and CEO Charlotte Weber. The event is open to the public and lunch will be provided.

The main seminar on Mastercam X-5, begins at 9 a.m. while the one on SolidWorks 2011 starts at 1:30 p.m. Both software packages provide manufacturers the solutions they need to enhance their high-performance machining capabilities.

“Mastercam X5 allows machinists to both design and manufacture parts using a high-speed tool control technology. The Mastercam X5 has no equal for speed and precision. This will be a chance for manufacturers to learn firsthand about these productive new design and production tools,” Ms. Weber said.

For additional information or to register, call 800.469.RCBI (7224), or send an e-mail to frontdesk@rcbi.org.

The software seminars are part of a continuing series by RCBI to provide access to state-of-the-art and state-of-the-market technologies so manufacturers can compete and succeed in the global market.

Celebrating 20 years of service, RCBI provides access to cutting edge technology and technical training to manufacturers across the region. Operating Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston, Bridgeport and Rocket Center (near Keyser in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle), its mission includes developing a quality, just-in-time supplier base for the Department of Defense, NASA and the commercial sector.
