Leaf Disposal Guideline in Huntington

By Huntingtonnews.net Staff

Huntington, WV (HNN) - With the return of autumn, Mayor Kim Wolfe would like to remind residents of the City of Huntington’s policies regarding leaf disposal.

Residents must bag their leaves and place the bags at the edge of their property or at the location where their garbage is normally picked up. Residents may include up to four bags of leaves per week with their regular refuse pickup.

For more than four bags, residents are asked to please contact the Street Division leaf hotline at 304-696-4484 so that a pickup can be arranged. Leaves also may be taken to Dietz Hollow Landfill in Guyandotte from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Leaves should never be placed into the street gutter, which will block storm flows and can cause flooding due to blockage of the City’s sewer systems.
