Mayor Wolfe Advises Employers to Continue User Fee Collections

Huntington, WV (HNN) – On Monday, Sept. 28, Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe held a press conference to advise employers and the self-employed to continue collecting the $3.00 per week user fee. The fee had been scheduled to cease, if the occupation tax had been instituted October 1, 2010.
Since the State Home Rule Board has tabled the tax reform plan and a legal challenge will follow should/if the Board approves the occupation tax , Wolfe indicated that the user fee will remain until further notice.
