Huntington, WV (HNN) – The Finance Committee of Huntington City Council will meet Monday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m., prior to the regular council meeting.
The meeting will contain a discussion of proposed budget revisions that were previously disclosed at the Thursday, Sept. 23 work session and/or the prior finance committee meeting.
Dominating discussion will likely be the plans to replenish the contingency fund, which , at least on paper, fell to about $38,000 at the last Finance Committee meeting.
Finance Director Deron Ruynon called the revisions as “complexities of encumbrance accounting,” which led to on paper potential revenue shortfalls and previously unlisted expenses.
At the work session, the Wolfe Administration proposed cuts from both the Police and Fire Department which would not jeopardize public safety.
