Attic and Book Sale Set for Saturday, Sunday at the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center

Ashland, KY (HNN) – The Highlands Museum & Discovery Center is once again hosting the Attic and Book Sale during Poage Landing Days September 17-19, 2010. Glassware, books, bric-a-brac, kitchen items, antiques and furniture will be on sale to benefit the museum’s educational programming.
 
The Attic and Book Sale will be Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 19 from 12-5 p.m. Admission is $1. On Friday, Sept. 17, the Preview Sale will take place from 5-8 p.m. if you want the first look at the bargains. Admission to the Preview Sale is $5.
 
In partnership with schools and community, the museum attracts and educates both youth and adults from around the Tri-State and across the nation. It preserves history and provides an integral contribution to the region’s quality of life. The museum attracts more than 25,000 visitors each year, and more than 10,000 children attend special activities – workshops, camps, exhibits, events. An additional 1,800 students are reached by the museum’s outreach programs at area schools.
 
The museum is at 1620 Winchester Avenue. Museum tours are available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Admission is $5.50 for adults, and $4.50 for seniors, students and children. Members and children under 2 are free.
