Huntington / Bowling Green Mayoral Challenge
By Huntingtonnews.net Staff
Mayor Kim Wolfe announced today that he has accepted a mayoral challenge from Bowling Green, Ohio’s mayor, John Quinn.
The challenge consists of a “friendly wager” hinging on the outcome of this Saturday’s game between the Marshall University Thundering Herd and the Bowling Green Falcons. If the Herd emerges victorious, Mayor Quinn will have to fly a Marshall flag at Bowling Green’s City Hall for the entire week following the game. If Marshall loses, the Falcons flag will fly at Huntington City Hall.
“We are, of course, confident that Marshall will be victorious,” Mayor Wolfe stated. “I have a real nice Marshall flag to leave with Mayor Quinn following Saturday’s game!”
As part of the wager, the losing Mayor will also have to send evidence to the winning Mayor in the form of a photo featuring them with the opposing school’s flag displayed in the background.
