Delays For Recreational Craft Expected On Ohio Lock During Sternwheel Regatta

Huntington, WV (HNN) - Due to the temporary closure of the auxiliary lock chamber at Willow Island Locks and Dam near Marietta, Ohio, for unscheduled repairs, recreational boaters - including those associated with the upcoming Sternwheel Regatta - will likely encounter delays while locking through the main chamber. Recreational craft will have to wait in line with commercial tows to lock. Priority will be given as first come first served.
The auxiliary chamber is being repaired and is expected to reopen in mid-December 2010.
