Remember First Responders in Huntington on 9/11 Anniversary
By Tony Rutherford

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Giving back has become a theme which forms a portion of the annual 9/11 anniversary of the terrorists destroying the World Trade Center and crashing a plane into the Pentagon.
For the past several years, Huntington and surrounding suburbs have utilized the day to deliver baked goods and thank you cards to “our” first responders.
“I determined that each year on the anniversary of these events, time should be set aside to say thank you to our local heroes,” stated T-Anne See. “We make deliveries to firehouses, police, EMS detachments and local National Guard units. All of these men and women serving in these positions are unsung heroes that deserve to be thanked and honored for their service,” See explained.
Schools, offices, churches and individuals wishing to collect cards or baked goods for First Responders should bring their items to New Life Church, 1101 Cedar Crest Drive, by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. A group of volunteers will distribute the items September 10 and 11. Pick up arrangements can be made, by calling, 304-733-4423.
“Labels will be provided that will indicate who the baked the goodies and what organization or family they came from,” See said.
