The Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational All-Tournament Team
Blakely, Holdaway, Vinson and Kerns earn honors

Huntington, WV (HNN) - The Marshall University women’s soccer team had four players make the Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational All-Tournament Team. MU’s Erin Blakely (Westerville, Ohio) earned the tournament MVP award as she tallied a goal and an assist on the weekend en route to the Herd winning matches against Radford, 1-0 and Appalachian State, 2-0.
Also receiving All-Tournament honors for Marshall was junior co-captain Freya Holdaway (Llandrindod Wells, Wales) and sophomore midfielder Sarah Vinson (Amelia, Ohio). Goalkeeper Lindsey Kerns (Hurricane, W.Va.) wrapped up the Herd awards she tallied four saves on the weekend.
Second place Radford placed Julie Ruh’e, Kathleen Jarvis and Latrice Lee on the tournament team. Ruh’e and Lee connected on Sunday afternoon to give the Highlanders a 1-0 victory.
Appalachian State goalkeeper Caroline Clarke and defender Lindsay Jaffe, along with Iona’s Gabby D’Aprile and Lisa Murer rounded out the All-Tournament team.
