Beyond the Game: Website Rates Marshall, WVU Fans … and Movie Babes

Huntington, WV (HNN) – As the go for the goal lines prepare for an in-state football clash of two top universities --- West Virginia and Marshall --- there are some sideshows that should appeal to the football fanatics.
A fan page called Bleacher Report has a competition and Facebook rating for what it calls “College Football’s Hottest Fans Bases.”
All 120 schools have representatives.
Due to the copyright laws being what they are, we’ll have to direct you to vote for your favorite Marshall and/or WVU fan. Currently, the Thundering Herd trails in Facebook “likes” by a whopping 139-9.
The author calls MU’s fan “spectacular” and ranks her 72 out of 120. But WVU has a team of “fans” who have created a way of supporting their team besides painting letter on their stomachs. (This is a PG-13 fan base, so think innovative, not impure.)

The competition is very tongue in cheek. Ranked #1, Arizona State for having a “modeling agency” campus followed by Ole Miss, which keep a Miss America red-shirted. For instance, when she is not playing Betty Draper on Mad Men, January Jones makes movies. She played Mrs. Dawson in "We Are Marshall"— “a great football film,” the bleacherreport stated. “January Jones is beautiful. She is a blonde hair blue eyed dream girl that any man would be lucky enough to call his own.:
THE TEAM:
The web site’s Jimmy Boyd called Marshall a “sneaky contender,” explaining that they “ hired a new head coach in the off season and his name comes straight out of the movies. Doc Holliday (ref Tombstone / Wyatt Earp) is the new sheriff in town after school officials decided Mark Snyder’s reign was over despite leading the Herd back to a bowl game last season.”
Summation: The reporter “likes this team as a sleeper” predicting a 7-5 finish for the Herd.
