Huntington, WV (HNN) – Neither Michael Fleurizard III nor Antwon Chisholm officially wore the Marshall University Thundering Herd green and white. Along with a third recruit, Fred Picket, they arrived from Florida expecting to join the Herd.
However, two of the three have been charged in connection with the robbery of a Papa John’s and a Z-Brick pizza delivery person.
Fleurizard has been charged with a July 31 first degree robbery of the Brick Over delivery person near the freshman dormitory. He’s now charged with the Papa John’s robbery which occurred less than 24 hours later.
Chisholm has now been charged with First Degree robbery stemming from the Papa John’s robbery in which the delivery person was placed in a choke hold and his keys, cell phone, Papa John’s items and about $20 were taken.
Chisholm and Picket have allegedly transferred to another school. Police have indicated that they will extradite Chisholm on the robbery charge.
At this time, no charges of any kind have been filed against Picket.
Fleurizard remains in the Western Regional Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
The robberies remain under investigation by both the Huntington Police Department and the Marshall University Police Department.
Although the three recruits were dismissed from the team MU coach Doc Holliday did not mention the robbery when he removed the players.
He made the following statement prior to the team’s first practice August 4: "We have high expectations of our players, and these three have not lived up to what we require of a Marshall University football player," Holliday said. "They have lost the privilege of playing football at Marshall and have been dismissed from our football team"
