“Tea At The Plaza”

Special to Huntingtonnews.net

The Pullman Plaza Hotel, Huntington’s only true full-service hotel for almost four decades, is starting a “new/old” tradition with the kick-off of a formal afternoon tea to be held on the first Saturday of every month from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

In the tradition of the Greenbrier Hotel and Resort, which has held tea every afternoon since the 1930’s, The Pullman Plaza Hotel hopes to make this a Huntington tradition, and will hold tea with more frequency if there is enough interest and support.

The event is the idea of The Pullman’s head pastry chef, Joe Mays, who will personally be greeting and serving the guests.

The tea will incorporate entertainment, and Huntington’s First Lady, Deborah Wolfe, will be in attendance at the teas, giving citizens and opportunity to visit with her, as well.

The menu for this Saturday’s tea includes: Cucumber Sandwiches, Olive and Cheese Tarts, Chicken Salad, Pecan Scones, Sweet Potato Biscuits, Zucchini Bread, Petit Fours, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, Macaroons, Assorted Teas and Coffee, and Fresh Lemonade.

Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children age ten and under, with children under age two, free. Reservations are recommended by calling: 304-525-1001, but walk-ins are welcome.

For more information, call 304-525-1001.
