Huntington, WV (HNN) – Marshall University football coach ‘Doc’ Holliday has dismissed three Florida recruits from the team. Antwon Chisholm, Fred Pickett and Mike Fleurizard have been cut from the team, the MU athletic department release stated.

Coach Holliday did not provide reasons for the dismissals, but Huntington and Marshall Police reports Fleurizard has been arrested and charged in connection with a July 31 robbery of a Papa John’s delivery person in the 2100 block of Buffington Avenue. He has also been identified with two accomplices as one of three men in connection with the on campus robbery of a Z-Brick delivery man.

No second chances for these men who would have joined the team at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 4.

Holliday stated: “We have high expectations of our players and these three have not lived up to what we require of a Marshall University football player," he said. "They have lost the privilege of playing football at Marshall and have been dismissed from the team."

The Marshall University Police Department and the Huntington Police Department worked together on the robbery cases.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Pickett had not been named in court filings; however, the criminal complaint states that three men participated in the assault and robbery of the Z-Brick driver.

Two of the three recruits were expected to compete for playing time on this fall’s team.
