POLICE BRIEFS: Ashland Church Crime Scene; Woman Wounded in Huntington

Huntington, WV (HNN) - As the heat has gone up from the sun, the number of crime incidents in and around Huntington have increased, too. Ironically, now that the surging heat wave has weakened, robberies, a shooting and a still undetermined incident at an Ashland church have been reported.
 
MAN FOUND DEAD AT TRI STATE GOSPEL ASSEMBLY
 
According to dispatch and television reports, a man has been found dead inside the church located in the Westwood section of Ashland, Ky., on Main Street. Police began arriving at about eight o’clock Tuesday, July 13.

2Oth STREET SHOOTING
 
A woman remains in serious condition after suffering a bullet to the back at about 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13. The woman was shot at the intersection of 20th Street and Ninth Avenue. According to police, the man sot Rebecca Noble, 45, then ran away. Police are searching for a thin build African American male about six feet tall. Call 304-696-4420.
 
ARMED ROBBERY
 
About six hours later (12:45 p.m.), an armed robbery reportedly occurred at a residence East of 20th Street and Ninth Avenue.
