Cabell BOE Members to Be Sworn In
Public Hearing on Proposed School Consolidations, Changes

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Four members of the Cabell County Board of Education will take their oath of office, Tuesday, July 6 at the board’s regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Administrative Offices, 2850 Fifth Avenue. Mrs. Mary Alice Freeman, Mrs. Mary Neely, Mr. Garland Parsons and incumbent Mr. Bennie Thomas will take the oath administered by Cabell County Circuit Judge Hon. David Pancake.
 
Parsons will fill the unexpired term of the late Ted Barr, which ends June 30, 2012. The other board members serve four year terms through June 30, 2014.
 
Prior to the regular meeting, the board will hold a public hearing on the 2010-2020 Cabell County Educational Facilities Plan (CTFP). The hearing begins at 4:45 p.m. at the board’s administrative offices.
 
Members of the public may submit statements of testimony to school officials. Copies of the CEFP are available for review at the receptionist’s desk of the Cabell board administrative offices 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Copies are also available at Cabell Midland High School, 2300 US Route 60 E., Ona, WV and Huntington High School, One Highlander Way, Huntington, WV.
