Corexit Ingredients Released

Huntington, WV (HNN) – In a previous story, HNN indicated that the manufacturer, NALCO, had declined to release the ingredients of the dispersant , Corexit. Charlie Pajor, senior manager, External Communication of Nalco, told HNN, June 30, that “ingredients in Corexit were released by the EPA weeks ago and we have details on the components.”

The website explains that COREXIT 9500 is the “sole product” we have been making for Gulf responders since the spill began. Limited quantities of COREXIT 9527 may have been drawn from existing dispersant stockpiles. Corexit 9500 does NOT include the ingredient 2-butoxy ethanol, which is in Corexit 9527.
