Cabell Huntington Hospital Sponsors Medical Explorer Post Program July 6 For Students Interested In Medical Field

Huntington, WV (HNN) - Cabell Huntington Hospital invites high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field to participate in its Medical Explorer Post. The next Medical Explorer Post event will take place on Tuesday, July 6 at 10 a.m. and is expected to end about 11:30 a.m.
 
This session will highlight the Cabell Huntington Hospital Epilepsy Center and Neurophysiology Lab and will be conducted by Mark M. Stecker, MD, PhD; Mona Stecker, Certified Nurse Practitioner and Eric Stephens, Clinical Coordinator of the Neurophysiology Lab at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
 
During the event, Dr. Stecker and his team will provide an opportunity for the students to explore the field of neuroscience as well as tour the Neurophysiology Lab that includes video electroencephalogram (EEG), long-term EEG monitoring and intractable epilepsy care.
 
Medical Explorer is a program for students ages 14-20 who are interested in medical services. Students take part in workshops, hands-on experiences and listen to guest speakers from Cabell Huntington Hospital. Medical Explorers meets once a month. A $10 annual registration fee is due at the event.
 
Students interested in attending the event are to meet in the atrium of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital.
