WV 5K Championship – Race Day Information
Race Begins 8:00am-Volunteers Needed-Street Closures

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Participants are registering for the 2010 WV 5K in record numbers; more than 500 participants have already registered! The WV 5K Championship, presented by the Herald-Dispatch in partnership with United Way, will be held on June 19, 2010 in downtown Huntington. Pre-registration is $25. Race day registration is $30. Online Registration will close Friday June 18th at 11:00am.
Registrations will be accepted in person Friday evening during packet pickup at the Pullman Square stage, and on the day of the race. Only individual registrations will be accepted the day of the race – no team entries will be accepted. It is strongly recommended that participants pick up their race packet Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Pullman Square stage to avoid the Saturday morning rush.
Volunteers are still needed to serve as course marshalls (to direct traffic). If you would like to volunteer please contact Pat Riley pat@tristateracer.com.

8:00 AM - Race Start
9:00 AM - Race Course Closes
9:45 AM - Awards Ceremony at Pullman Square
Street Closures for this event include the following locations: Veteran's Memorial Blvd. from 10th St. to 8th St. from 6:00-9:30 a.m; Veteran's Memorial Blvd from 13th St. to 1st St., 1st St., Veteran's Memorial Blvd. to 5th Ave., 1 Lane of 5th Ave from 1st St. to Hal Greer Blvd., Hal Greer Blvd from 3rd Ave. to 5th Ave., and 1 Lane of 3rd Ave from 13th St. to Hal Greer Blvd will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
While there will be plenty of police and course marshals on hand to assist with traffic, motorists are asked to use caution during the race.
