WV Speaker Thompson Launches Huntington AARP Work Project Thursday

Huntington, WV (HNN) - West Virginia House Speaker Rick Thompson will join AARP West Virginia State Director Gaylene Miller and Russell Fry, acting executive director for WorkForce West Virginia, to officially launch the AARP Foundation’s WorkSearch project during an open house event at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 27, at the WorkForce West Virginia Career Center in Huntington.
The WorkForce Center is located at 2699 Park Avenue.
AARP, in cooperation with WorkForce West Virginia, is launching this easy-to-use system at selected WorkForce West Virginia locations across the state to assist workers in their efforts to find the right job based on their interests, personal characteristics, experience and skills. WorkSearch is a valuable resource that helps people quickly assess if they have the right skills for their career choices, access free and low-cost training programs to fill skill gaps, and connect with employers and available job openings.
