RCBI Names Sonny Bunnell Employee of the Month

Huntington, WV (HNN) — Gerald A. (Sonny) Bunnell of Clarksburg, W.Va., has been selected as Employee of the Month for May at the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing, RCBI Director & CEO Charlotte Weber has announced.
Bunnell, who joined RCBI 18 months ago, is a CNC Machinist/Machinist Instructor at the RCBI Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.
A 1972 graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg, Bunnel attended the Fairmont State College Aviation Maintenance Program in 1999. He earned an Associate Degree in Machinist Technology from the Marshall (now Mountwest) Community & Technical College in 2002 after completing the RCBI Machinist Technology Program in 2001.
Bunnell began his career in manufacturing in 1974 as a first class machinist with National Machinery Co. in Clarksburg, later working with several other manufacturing firms in Clarksburg and Fairmont. He joined RCBI after working as lead machinist at FMW Composite Systems, Inc. at Bridgeport since 2002.
“Although his time with us thus far has been brief, Sonny has quickly proven to be a valuable addition to RCBI,” Ms. Weber said. “We feel fortunate to have him as a member of our Bridgeport team.”
Bunnell and his wife, Roni Rae (Devono) Bunnell, have been married for 37 years. They are the parents of a daughter, Heather Marie Burnside. She and her husband, Michael, have a son, Christian Michael Burnside. In his spare time, Bunnell enjoys antiques and woodworking.
