Explosive Devise Outside Barboursville Bar Kills One
Bomb Threat in Proctorville

Barboursville, WV (HNN) – Cactus Joe’s Bar located in a plaza across from Kroger and Food King in Barboursville was the target of a pipe bomb early Saturday morning, May 22. Investigation surrounding the bomb and other devices found at the scene kept main traffic arteries closed until mid Saturday morning.
The still unidentified man detonated the bomb at around 2:15 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. The explosion did not hurt anyone inside the club. The man was killed.
Witnesses stated that the man had met his ex-wife at the bar and may have been stalking the establishment looking for her. The bartender told a television reporter that the man believed that the bar caused his divorce. The ex-wife was not at the bar at the time of the blast.
The man, who had been banned from the bar, wore a disguise at the time of the detonation.
Early Sunday morning, May 23, Lawrence County, Ohio, dispatchers reported that someone had called in a bomb threat to the Wendy’s Restaurant in Proctorville. The area has been evacuated, as of 2 a.m. Sunday morning. No word on whether any bomb has been found.
