GSA On-Line eBay-Styled Auction for Former Huntington Naval Reserve Structure

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Don’t call it eBay, but the former Huntington Naval Reserve Center has been placed on the auction block as surplus by the federal General Services Administration.
 
Zoned industrial, the structure at 841 Jackson Avenue, will be sold by online auction beginning May 12, 2010.
 
The parcel is described as a 24,775 square foot, one story brick building on 3.12 acres in the Huntington Industrial Center.
 
Minimum bid is $100,000.00. Subsequent bids must be in increments of $20,000.
 
Under the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) that GSA warrants “based on a complete search of agency files, the United States gives notice that no hazardous substances have been release or disposed of or store for one year or more on the property.
 
However, notice is given of Presence of Lead Based Paint and an assumption that Asbestos Containing Materials exist on the site. Click the link provided for additional details:
