Given Named Resource Manager for Yatesville Lake

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The Huntington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has named Brian Given as the new resource manager for Yatesville Lake.
As resource manger, Given is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and day-to-day operation and maintenance for the Yatesville Lake project. In addition to reducing flood damages, Yatesville Lake provides water supply, recreation and environmental benefits to the citizens of eastern Kentucky.
Given began his career with the Corps in 2000. Prior to being selected as resource manager, he worked as a park ranger and natural resource specialist for the Ohio and Kanawha River locks and dams as well as in various projects within the Kanawha and Big Sandy areas of the Huntington District. Given also worked for the Louisville District at Buckhorn and Cave Run Lakes.
A native of Sutton, W.Va., Given graduated in 2003 from Glenville State College with a bachelor’s degree in history and social sciences. Throughout his 10-year career, Given has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the 2009 Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Natural Resource Management Employee of the Year award.
