Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation Women's Philanthropy Society Award Recipients Recognized

Huntington, WV (HNN) - The Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation Women's Philanthropy Society has announced its 2010 community service winners.
 
Laura G. Darby was presented the Kitty Hage Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is presented to a woman whose life's work has been dedicated to humanitarian efforts. The award is designed for someone who has not sought recognition for her deeds, but has worked solely to better her community and the quality of life for others.
 
Gerri Walker, President of Walker Transfer, Inc., received the Focus Award. This distinctive award honors Tri-State women, encourages philanthropy, and is given to individuals who exemplify the heart, strength and compassion of women. The Focus Award honors achievements in volunteerism, pioneer in women's health, community service, professional achievement and home and family.
 
Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Darby were recognized at the annual Women's Philanthropy Luncheon held recently at the Guyan Golf and Country Club.
 
The Women's Philanthropy Society is a group of women of all ages and background who commit a gift of $100 to benefit women's and children's health services at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
